new and interesting words...?

10/26
Write down at least five words that you’ve learned or that you think are interesting from the readings we’ve done so far. Define each word, write why it struck you as interesting, and find at least one place on the Web where that word is used and link to that page.

ill get back to you on this one...

Triviality - the quality or condition of being trivial (trivial - of little significance. ordinary or commonplace.
The word triviality struck me as interesting because most often the word trivial is used as the adjective. It was the only time i had ever heard of it being used in as different function, a noun.
Treat all disasters as if they were trivialities but never treat a triviality as if it were a disaster.

Vie(d) - to strive for superiority.
I will definately be using this word in the future. It is such a strong word, especially in Angelou's sentence.

Palpable - Tangible. Easily percieved.
I was intrigued when I read this word because it was used in such a way that made me question its meaning.

Wistfully - full of yearning or desire tinged with melancholy; inspiring such yearning.
This word is a combination of two word (which is so cool) : Wishfully + Wistly = Wistfully (according to webster dictionary)

Buoy - to raise the spirits of.
Buoy stood out to be because when i hear or read a word that i had never heard before, i get very curious. I had heard the word used as a noun as in a floating device, but i had never heard it used as a verb.
